Swim Spas are getting more popular in the Uk due the exercise benefits, size and price. They offer a combination of a fitness machine and a spa for relaxation. It is like having a treadmill for swimmers, it has adjustable swim jets that allows you to swim against a current providing the benefits and fun of a normal swimming pool in a fraction of the space. The other good thing about the swim spas is that you can perform low impact walking which are very beneficial for your muscles and joints. You can enjoy the full benefits of a swim spa in the privacy of your home without worrying about the costs of a full blown swimming pool. There is no need for tuning in your swim spa.

Sunbelt Spas are one of the top brands in the USA and have been making hot tubs and swim spas for nearly 30 years. They come in two different configurations:

The luxury swim spas is ideal for big families. It has six ergonomically designed seats which provide a place to relax and unwind after a hard day. It also features 4 swim jets to work out and do low impact resistance exercise.

The olympic swim spa is perfect for those who want to concentrate more on swimming. It has unique swim lane jets on the sides to keep you in line when you swim against the current. The two captain seats on the spa end provide relaxation at the end of a workout or a hard day.

Swim Spa temperatures can be adjusted depending what kind of a day it is and they come with 32 LEDS lights which crate a cozy glow or bight atmosphere at night. Two Ozone purifying units help limit the amount of chemicals used and help keep your swim spa clean all day day long. They are so efficient some clients haven’t emptied their water for nearly two years.

A swim Spa can be set indoors or outdoors and can be incorporated with decking or just left above ground in the surrounds of your garden. They can also be sunken into the ground with the main pumps housed in a separate room. Swim Spas need to be craned into place due to the size and then connected to a 40amp supply.

Price start at £15,995 including delivery and you can view more about the construction and brand from our sister site Elite Hot tubs

Some clients who have terrace houses or not enough access round the side of the house may require the use of a crane to lift the hot tub over the house.

A site survey must be done in order for crane deliveries to take place. A level ground must be nearby with overhead clearance in order for crane lifts to happen. We recommend you call a few companies from the yellow pages before you commit to a company.

When I had my first hot tub delivered we manually positioned it and this took 6 people which to be honest was hard work. A year and half later We were planning to move and so had to lift the hot tub out. This was due to our neighbour building a shed and therefore blocking our access.

I was a bit anxious due to the crane reach needed was huge but we found a company who manage to lift the huge hot tub sucessfully. It was a tight fit and had bad visions of the tub falling through our neighbours roof. The crane driver was very precise and worked professionally with his colleague with no problems.

Prices range from £200-£800 depending on the size of the crane. This normally includes the insurance.

According to the BBC Britain had its worst drought for over 100 years last year. The official statistics show the south east has less water per person than the desert states in Syria and Sudan while the country has less than the whole of Europe, apart from Belgium and Cyprus. With these staggering figures can you still top up your pools and hot tubs?

Water companies impose a ban on domestic use of hosepipes and sprinklers and don’t need permission from the government or environment agency to do so.

The good news was that during the hose pipe ban last summer you were still allowed to fill up your swimming pools and hot tub.
