Having seen this picture on Flickr, I seemed to wonder how the hell they managed to fit that many people in the hot tub. It just shows hot tubs are meant for every size, be it a tight squeeze.

How many people in a Hot Tub?

Hot tubs are meant to be a social place where you can unwind and relax but this takes it to the max. They managed to fit 15 people in the tub with no inch to spare.

O2 relax sell all types of hot tubs and swim spas ranging  from a 3 person to a 11 person tub. I would like to see how many people they could squeeze into one of them.

Hosepipe Ban rule to change In Future!! del.icio.us:Hosepipe Ban rule to change In Future!! digg:Hosepipe Ban rule to change In Future!! reddit:Hosepipe Ban rule to change In Future!!

According to the Daily Mail last week the Environment minister Ian Pearson has changed the law so future bans will include the filling up of paddling pools, hot tubs, ornamental ponds and swimming pools. Mr Pearson has also forbidden the cleaning of windows and outside walls using a hose. At present , the rules only cover watering your garden and car. defra.gov.uk

Mr Pearson added that “while a wet winter has reduced the risk of such measures this year we cannot ignore the fact that the frequency of droughts may increase in the future. and we must be ready for that possibility”

The consumer council for water said that water companies themselves should do more to conserve suppliers, particularly in times of drought. According to the Minister it will be up to the water authorities to fine the customers but a spokesman confirmed they find it hard to hit customers as they are guilty of losing large amounts of water through leaks. He also added that any ban on filling pools would go too far. ” People who pay their annual water bill have a right to use water sensibly. Filling a small paddling pool or hot tub should not be a reason for prosecution.”

This supposed law has outraged a lot of people, Why should we pay fines and not the water authorities? They waste more water through leeks which weren’t resolved last summer. One customer quoted “We live on an island surrounded by water so there should be no water water shortages. The water authorities should be more efficient”.

What is the world coming too? Why doesn’t the government invest in building dams and more reservoirs to conserve water rather than impose bans? We should learn from other countries which have hotter climates than ours such as South Africa who have water conservation schemes in place.. According to one reader they have vast development of inter-connected reservoirs with reticulation tunnels – one of them 100 miles long.

The other question which the Minister didn’t add is how this affects businesses in the pool and hot tub industry? Is the government going to compensate them for lose of business due to no sales? Well we have to wait and see what the future holds and see if this law will ever happen!!!
