

Q. I have a pungent chlorine smell in my hot tub. How can I get rid of this?
A. This can be caused by too much or too little chlorine in your tub. Test and adjust the dosage using test strips to betweem 1-3ppm. Consider shock dosing.
It is good practise to shock the spa on a regular basis to break odurs and pollutants such as cosmetics and oils. Add fresh water to dilute if there is too much chlorine.
Q. How can I clear cloudy water in my hot tubs?
A. This is caused by poor or inadequate filtration. Clean the filter with cartridge cleaner. Use chlorine granules or spa sparkle to make the water clear. Increase the filter run time if still no results.
Q. The inside of my hot tubs feels really slimy. Hows can I get rid of this?
A. This is caused by lack of chlorine on your tub. Try wiping the walls then increaing the chorine levels. Consider shock dosing.
Q. Im finding it hard to adjust the PH in my hot tub?
A. This may be due to being in an area where there is very hard or soft water. Check the alkalinity and consider balancing the water. Consider hardness increaser.
Q. I get stinging eyes when I get into my hot tub?
A. This may mean your PH is either too low or too high. The chlorine levels may also be too low. The is can be rectified by testing and adjust to the required chemical on the PH chart.
Q. I get a build up a scale round the edge of my hot tub?
A. If you live in a particularly hard or soft water area then this may cause a lot of scale build up in your tub. Use anti-scale to get rid of this.
Q. I have a lot of foam build up in my tub. How can I get rid of this?
A. This is caused by make-up and body oils deposited into the tub. Ensure to have a shower before and after you get into your spa. Anti foam will get rid of the foam build up.
